Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using any services provided by WIA ("we", "us", "our"), including WIA Standards, WIA SOOM, WIA Books, WIA Money, WIA Pin Code, The Korean Today, and related platforms (collectively, "Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our Services.

2. Description of Services

WIA provides a range of digital services including:

• WIA Standards: Open technology standards and certification frameworks
• WIA Standards API: Paid and free access to WIA standards data at api.wiastandards.com
• WIA SOOM: AI-powered server operations platform with subscription plans
• WIA Books: Digital publishing platform with accessibility features
• WIA Money: Multi-currency conversion and financial tools
• WIA Pin Code: Global addressing system
• The Korean Today: News media platform

3. User Accounts

Some Services require account registration. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account. You must provide accurate and complete information and notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

• Paid Services are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually). New purchases from October 21, 2026 are sold and processed by our online reseller Dodo Payments, Inc., which acts as the Merchant of Record; its terms and privacy policy also apply to the payment. Subscriptions bought earlier through Stripe continue to be billed through Stripe until they end.
• Prices are displayed in USD with approximate local currency equivalents for reference.
• You authorize us to charge your payment method on each billing cycle until you cancel.
• Subscription fees are non-refundable except as required by applicable law or as described in our Refund Policy.

5. Cancellation and Refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Upon cancellation, you will retain access to paid features until the end of your current billing period. Refund requests are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact global@thekoreantoday.com for assistance.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Services for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Services
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Services
• Upload malicious code or content that infringes on others' rights
• Resell or redistribute the Services without our written consent

7. Intellectual Property

WIA Standards content is available under the MIT License unless otherwise stated. Our brand, logos, and proprietary software remain the intellectual property of WIA OÜ and SmileStory Co., Ltd. Third-party trademarks belong to their respective owners.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, WIA shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Services. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Service Availability

We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time with reasonable notice.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Estonia. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Harju County, Estonia, unless otherwise required by applicable consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or through the Services. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
