5. Implementation Guidelines
5.1 Cloud Infrastructure
Recommended cloud architecture for Phase 1:
- Compute: Kubernetes cluster with 10-50 nodes
Kubernetes cluster with 50-200 nodes, GPU support for ML
Multi-region Kubernetes with auto-scaling, 200-500 nodes
- Storage: TimescaleDB for time-series data, S3 for archives
Distributed TimescaleDB, Redis cache, S3 data lake
Multi-region replication, CDN, blockchain storage
- Messaging: Apache Kafka (3-node cluster)
Apache Kafka (10+ nodes), MQTT for IoT
Kafka + RabbitMQ + MQTT, multi-region streaming
5.2 Security Configuration
- OAuth 2.0 authentication with JWT tokens
- Role-based access control (RBAC) with least privilege principle
- Network segmentation and zero-trust architecture
- Standard encryption and key rotation
- Regular security audits and penetration testing
6. Testing and Validation
Phase 1 implementations must pass the following test suites:
- Unit tests: >90% code coverage
- Integration tests: All API endpoints and data flows
- Performance tests: Load testing at 2x
3x
5x expected peak load
- Security tests: OWASP Top 10 vulnerability scanning
- Compliance tests: Data format validation
7. Compliance and Certification
Organizations implementing Phase 1 must demonstrate compliance with:
- WIA-ENE-014 core specification requirements
- Data model adherence and API conformance
- Security and privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA)
- Industry best practices for cloud operations
8. Migration from Previous Phases
This is the foundational phase. No migration required.
